Hazard Lights/Blinkers

My blinkers started going crazy about a year ago, and I'm getting sick of it. I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, and the only way to make them work when they are acting up is to click the hazard lights on/off. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

If I assume that the hazard flashers work OK I'm going with the hazard switch is bad.
However, if hazard flashers also act up that indicates a bad flasher module.
The system uses a common flasher for the turn signals and the hazard flashers.
When the turn signals are in use the circuit goes through the hazard switch. If the internal switch contacts are not making good contact the turn signals won't work properly.
