Which head is best?

G'day. Because of the outrageous prices of aftermarket heads over here, I am limited to rebuilding a set of factory chev heads. I have a pair or 882's and a pair of 624's. Which is the better of the two and how do they compare.
Thanks

If the outer edge of the exhaust side is straight from one end to the other,it's a heavy casting.

If it is scalloped out,it is a very crack prone late style light casting.

The 624 will be a light casting.

Hope I made sense...a picture would explain it well.

Here is a set of heavy 882 castings

Notice the straight edge from end to end along the exhaust side, except for the two small cut outs.

Here is an example of a late style light weight casting

Notice the large scalloped out areas.
