Head bolt ?

Putting my SBC together and realize that I may or may not have made a mistake. Looking for input to decide if I should redo. Anyways, bolted my vortec EQ heads to the block using a felpro composition gasket and the GM products head bolts (have sealant already one them). For some crazy reason, perhaps it was a long day and I wasn't thinking, I dipped the threads in oil before inserting them into their holes. In my mind I was thinking this would provide a better torque reading then I realized they already have sealant on them. Did I mess up the sealant on the threads? Also, I think that oil most likely dripped and spread between the heads and the gasket or block and gasket.

Is this okay or should I remove the heads and get new gaskets, bolts and redo? Thanks!

You will be alright. Many builders oil the sealed threads. Also oil the bolt under the head for better torque reading.

Good to know. That will keep me from shelling out another $100. For future reference is it more appropriate to just put some oil under the bolt head and leave the threaded portion alone? Again, I hope that no oil getting between the head and gasket will create an issue.

Oil is OK, but there are better options. ARP makes fastener torque lube as well as some other companies. Torque lube gives a much more consistent and accurate torque reading than plain oil.
