388x or 389x head

im looking to buy a set of heads. stock will work for me cause i want them built my way. a guy told me he had a set of 388x or either 389x heads. ive never heard of these heads. any of you guys ever heard of them?

1968-71 3986388 307 1.72 1.5 ,,,,,,,,, couldn't find "X" or 389X heads.

If you want them done for high performance, it's probably cheaper just to buy aftermarket vs. getting old stock heads completely reworked.

rebuild

im only lookin to port match the head to the intake runners and the headers. valves will be stock size if it is a good head. the cam has a 488/488 lift. so there is no need to change the rocker arm studs. thats why a stock head will work for me. plus the guy only wants like $40 for them. he owes me a couple of favors.

Well, you would at least want heads with 1.94" intake valves. Those 307 heads are pretty much useless.

okay okay okay. i called the guy up and he gave me more details. he got his son to look at the heads and here are the specs. they aint stock anymore i know that.
