head light wire diagram......help

friend has 81 chevy p/u need a head light diagram. the wires looked like a rats nest. trying to find out where the wires run to and from.(like from the dim plug to the bright ect.) when the dims are on one of the brights are on real dim. checked grounds but could be missing something..... thanks......help

there should be a wiring diagram in the back of a haynes manual somewhere. or do a search on the search engine of your choice.

Doc here,

If you Don't have a manual for your truck, try the local auto parts store, for like 25 bucks..you can get a Haynes or Chilton's will have good BASIC diagrams For you there.

Most of the on-line sources for manuals want your Credit card and your first born male child...for one diagram...half price of which you could buy the whole manual...AND if it ever shows up in your lifetime..may not be what your looking for...

Overlooked by many, and a good CHEAP source of OEM manuals is your COUNTY main (not city) library reference desk..ask the guy for Factory dealer manuals..(not Chilton's or Haynes) and they should have them..Or if not, be able to outsource them in a few days for you..The down-shot is they usually don't allow reference material out of the library..so bring lots of copy change!

I have manuals for an 82 Passenger car and Corvette, but I am pretty sure they are different from truck...

thanks guys. found manual with diagram in it. doc youre right about the web sites wanting first born,.... did search and found them. then came here.... thanks again guys
