Head lights

I have just got a '96 Trans Am. Whenever i put the headlights down, the motor to lower them just seem to keep running for about ten seconds afterwards. Can NE1 help me out?

Door limit switch

Doc here,

Well, being upfront ... Never worked on a T/A with headlight doors before, But Have done so on Corvette..

Look to see if you have a "Down Limit Switch" on the door (s) It should be a small micro switch located on or near the door linkages, you'll probably have to look real close with a flashlight and inspection mirrors if it's there..

If you find the switch, to verify it's the down limit, get a screwdriver and with the doors open, shut off the lights and trip the switch before they close..Travel should stop.

If and When you find this, adjust the switch or linkage to trip just as the door is level with the rest of the front clip..That should do it.

Some just use a gear drive for so many rotations = Closed...If yours is this way then you'll need a linkage adjustment for the doors..

Possibly Someone who has had actual experience with the T/A headlight doors can add more...

Doc
