after some 'head trauma' im getting a reman head, w\valves and springs for 396 (good price, awesome engine)

anyways... unfortunately i didnt keep my old pushrods around, and i suspect that the rods are different lengths for different head castings, just my suspicion... my stock head was cast #1144655 (which is extremely hard to find), and i believe that i got an 808-655.... but either way, the one i got was a different casting number. It was off a 87 pontiac grand am, with the same 2.5L engine, so i assumed it would work on mine.... bad assuming. Anyways... does anyone know if the pushrods should be the same length? i didnt keep my stock ones around unfortunately
