head work

just finished having my 383 stroker rebuilt,was installing plugs when I discovered the machine shop failed to notice a stripped plug hole question is can the head gasket be re-installed using gray head sealant on gasket?Head is alum.Seems I did this years ago but mind is failing.HELP!!!!!!!!!

Why pull the head off. Put an insert in it with the head on the motor.

times 2.....any small bits of aluminum that escape the grease on your tap will be melted and blown out the exhaust valve. We used to hole saw additional carb mounting holes in Corvair heads all the time with the heads in place on the motor.

Use a E-Z Lok thin wall thread insert. Could not be easier.

Got your message thanks.More so interested in your '59 just sold my 59 elkie,more a hot rod but my buddie had a one just like yours black -409-4sp-p.s.-fact.A.C. a 980pt car calf built never re paint or rust beautiful car.His son now has it do you have more pics?Besides the "59 he also bought back dads '70 trans-amw/17,000mi.Nice 2 car collection.Anyway your car made me think he sold it--which I doubt will ever happen.Have a good ride!!
