Can anyone tell me any advantages/disadvantages to separating the flange between the primary tubes? I was told that this would compensate for imperfections, and make it easier to keep them sealed. Is there any truth to this, or is someone blowing smoke?
With a cheap set of headers yes this can help but with a quality pair (or single...?) It should`nt make a difference...
Cutting the flange between pipes will reduce the stress on the individual tubes also... This too applies to cheaper types of headers... You get what you pay for with headers... I prefer either Hooker supercomps or Stahl...
Sooo, what I'm hearing is that if I have problems getting them to seal, cutting them should help, but if the headers are made right, it should not be neccesary.
Cool, thanks.
