Header Bolt Questions
I seem to remember some sort of bolt, possibly made by ARP, that would keep headers from backing out. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? Do they work? Where can I get them? My current bolts aren't holding the heads in and the bolts are already rusty. These are for a Chevy 350, btw.

ARP makes some 12 point headed stainless bolts (in a kit) that also has a stainless washer that helps keep the bolts tight... Summit sells these... #ARP-400-1101 they are also availible in hex which you can drill a small 1/16th" hole in each and use safety wire to secure them from backing off...

I think I might know what you're talking about. They are called Stage 8 locking header bolts. They'll run you about $30 I think. try http://www.stage8.com/

They don't lock but I use stainless allen bolts.

chevypunk has it. stage 8 locking header bolts. have a set myself..... if you dont have good flanges on your headers, you'll still have leaks.......

Thanks, guys, I found them at Jegs.com and ordered a set. I also got a set of copper header gaskets from Mr. Gasket. I'll let you know how that works out.
