Header Tube Size - S10 V8 Conversion

I have a 1989 S10 that has already got a SBC 350 in it which Heddman Headers but they are small tube (1-1/2") I think. I would like to put 1-3/4" tube headers on it. I have seen in Jegs that you can buy 1-3/4" tube headers for the S10 conversion but after looking at what I have, the 1-1/2" header tube for #7 cylinder is really close to the steering column now and was wondering if anyone has installed the 1-3/4" tubes on an S10 without problems.

Thanks

I doubt you need 1 3/4 headers. Header tube size(s) are derived from mathematical information obtained from your engine combo, heads/port flow velocity etc. Why would you like the 1 3/4" headers? For what reason? As for your question of fitment, even headers made specifically for your deal may have fitment issues. The only way not to run into these type 'problems' is to have custom made headers, otherwise get your torch and hammers out. I have seen people want certain headers and pay big dollars for them, only to have the fitment problems you ask about.

Also, look here
