I put a set of 20 dollar swapmeet block huggers in my '49. Fit like a glove... Sold the truck before I finished it...

Thanks Astroracer. I was hoping I could use a long tube style header but the steering column is kind of in the way. There's a 460 Big Block in the pickup now, but with stock exhaust.

My truck had a TCI MII front suspension with R&P. I could have probably run a long tube but these were cheap enough so I picked them up.

Years ago I had a 48 F1 pickup with a 283 and I used a set of headers for a 65/66 Nova SBC. Fit perfect. If you are removing the 460 ... and installing the SBC ... setting the SBC over a little for header clearance is a good idea.
