headers with angle head plugs??

Hello
I got edelbrock rpm heads with angle plugs. Angle plug shortly headers are pricey. If i use regular shortly headers and the shortly spark plugs think i could get away with it? Tnx hg

You've got me a little confused Hemmie. Angle plug heads are angled to make changing plugs easier. I've never heard of angle plug headers.

Yea a lot of headers say will not work with angle plug heads. I guess cause it angles the plug to close to the header pipe. I just wonder ifi use shifty plugs if it will matter. Or do i spend another 50 bucks and buy the ones designed specially for angle plug heads?? Nf

Heres my 331" sbc with Sanderson "CC5" shorty's and Edelbrock straight plug heads. I had no problems with my Taylor wires so the angle plug heads should work even better.

Some headers will clear angle plugs usually simpler designs that use center dumps. When you get into more complex designs whether short or long tubes you can run into problems. Rest assured that when the manufacturer says they don't fit angle plug heads, you can take it to the bank, they don't fit angle plug heads.

This leaves you with either buying headers you know don't fit and betting that short plugs and or beating dents in the tubes will get you by or spending the bigger bucks to buy headers that will fit angle plugs.

By the way, angle plugs were not developed to clear headers, it has everything to do with changing where the ignition point occurs in the combustion chamber to improve power output, which it turns out is also good for emissions reduction, it has nothing to do with header fitment and often makes headers a lot more difficult, if not nearly impossible to fit ala GT40P heads on a Mustang.
