headlight switch removal
 

how do i remove my headlite switch from my 41 plymouth....?

i dont have the original special tool that the manual calls for...

any suggestions woulld be appreciated :confused:

A flat blade screwdriver inserted in the slot on one side of the pull stem, turn it CCW (counter clockwise). Put a little penetrating oil on the threads to loosen it slightly.

If the screwdriver doesn't get it, a spanner can be made from an old junk-drawer socket of the right diameter.

You will need to carefully grind the material away from the pair of pins that you want left raised on the edge of the socket. This can be done easily w/a dremel- to do it by hand w/a file, etc. would take a LONG time!
