Headliner insulation

I need to replace the headliner in one of my 64 1/2 Mustangs and the insulation is in bad shape. This car is black and the AC will hardly keep up on a sunny day and since I need new insulation anyway I would like to use something better than the joke they used from the factory and the after market replacements are no better. Any recommendations as to what would work? Would better insulation help with the heat problem or should I just stick with the factory type?

Please don't use the "roofing" stuff from HD or lowes.

Lizard skin is the best choice.

I agree. There are much better options than the roofing material. Sometimes saving a few bucks initially costs you money in the long run.
