Set the bows where they will be and measure the distance between them and add about a 1/2 inch on each piece of material, you will be adding one inch for every bow and I would leave atleast 5 inches on each side and in the front and back. Jeff

Beware! Headliners are not for the novice. Stitching has to be perfect and as are the measurements. Installation is another exacting ordeal for beginners. NOTHING detracts from an otherwise good interior, like a bad headliner installation!..

I would suggest that you contact a company that specializes in them.. Hemmings Motor News etc.

I have also had VERY good luck with the headliners supplied by J. C. Whitney.. Don't laugh!! They have a very good supplier and I have installed their products. One in my 36 Hudson Terraplane (they had the patterns!) several Studebakers and a 41 Merc coupe.

Price was quite reasonable, very good material selection and all the matching trim/windlace..

Bob makes some very good points.

I had a headliner made from the same material as the custom door panels from CARS Inc, I actually stopped into their interior shop to pick materials and colors. (59 patterns in 57 colors)
The headliner is a heavy vinyl that I would no way on this earth attempt to install myself. Took a guy that did this for a living two days to get it right, the vinyl was a bit too heavy for the headliner--but it was all that was available to match the doors.

More good sources for headliners are Kanter (kanter.com) and LeBaron Bonney (lebaronbonney.com) You can get a complete headliner for $150.00. I doubt you could buy the fabric for that.
The other guys are giving you excellent advise.......don't try to do this yourself, get someone to put it in. You should also replace the windlace (rope-like trim) for around the doors. You can get that at Kanter and LeBaron Bonney also. Good Luck.
