question, on a fibreglass car, could a person just glue in a headliner directly to the glass? or is it better to go the route dan twolakes did on the 41 willis? i'm just a beginner in the upholstery catagory. i do have an industrial machine, but have never tackled a headliner job, but looks like i'm fixing to. the car is a glass 32 3 window.......thanks for any info

That was not my work on the '41 Willys. I assume you're talking about a "hard" headliner. I would not glue the headliner directly to the fiberglass. You need to have a framework fastened to the car to hold the base for the headliner and then glue the headliner to the base. (You can do this with Evercoat products. www.evercoat.com) The headliner needs to go in and out of the car a few times for fitting, and it's much easier to simply unscrew it from the base, make adjustments, and then glue the finished product in. You would really be asking for trouble if you made a mistake while gluing directly to the 'glass. Contact adhesive is not forgiving in the slightest.

There are one piece fiberglass headliners available, I just bought one for my 34 3 window from Redneck bodies. Be advised, they are a bit pricey.
