98 % of all FEs had 352 cast on the left front face.

FE 390s in GTs had dual bolt patterns.
Cobra Jets had dual bolt patterns.

Do this, it will tell you a lot...... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...AE-R+Ford+head

Says that they are 390 heads. http://www.dscmotorsport.com/asp/pro....asp?GroupID=2

Those heads with the two exhaust bolt patterns are good heads. Certainly not Edelbrocks,,, lol, but good for factory FEs.

410s and 428s are externally balanced. Check the dampner. That will tell you if it has a long stroke crank. LeMans rods have an additional weight.

Determining if it is a 352, 360, or 390 might be a little more difficult.

Reaching down the spark plug hole with a coat hangar wire to measure the stroke can be done, but it is a challenging situation. Measure twice...

If you can get the oil pan off while in the truck, the best bet would be to pull the oil pan and look at the cast in numbers on the crank.

OK, it would be nice if you had a 66-67 390 GT !!!!!!! There is a lot of potential there.

The door tag means nothing. The door tag also says that the truck is a 6 cylinder.

That 6 cyl trans wouldn't last long behind an FE.
