Heat riser, crossover blockage ???

in a V8 two exhaust ports have a weird bowl shape due to the crossover for the heat raiser, is this too bad? does blocking the passage at the manifold gaskets helps the gas flow? forget about the consequenses of eliminating the heat from the intake manifold, I just want to know how the exhaust flow is affected, race heads do not have this passage of course, is there a benefit filling this passages? or is not worth the big effort?

Augusto.

You can block them off but it will be very cold blooded. Plus, if you do block the crossover, make sure your heat riser is removed or you will have a heck of a time making it run on 4 cylinders.
