Heat Shield 1980 Turbo Trans Am

Hi guys

I have a 1980 Turbo Trans Am and I want to get my heat shield (which bolts to underside of hood above the turbo) powder coated in heat resistant glossy black.

My question is should I do that or should it be left aluminum color for heat diflection? Will the black color cause a problem with the bird decal which I also want to replace?

Should I coat it with a different substance?

Any comments would be greatly apperciated.

Thanks and have a nice day and happy driving............lloyd

Black will definitely absorb more heat. Consider having it HPC coated instead.
