Heat shrinkable vinyl covering
I'd like to create a gage console on the trany hump, under the dash in my 70 Nova to house 6 gages. This should make them much more visible while driving. I plan to build it out of 1/4" plywood (hardwood) and cover it in vinyl. I have seen on one of the many cable shows a vinyl material that responds like heat shrink, and it seems it was made by 3M. Does anyone know about this material and where to get it?
It is great stuff as you can put shapes, either recessed or raised and it will form fit around it. I'd like to put a Chevrolet Bow-tie on each side of it, just for some added character. |
