Heater Cables
My son's friend has a 1970 Buick Skylark. When he bought the car the heater did not work, I looked at the system 1 of the cables was cut and the other is frozen. I looked through Hemmings and called a few places only one said he would call back, but never did. Does anyone have any ideas?

It is a heat only car no AC.

Don't know if it will help you but this company makes custom built cables. I have not dealt with them but have one of their catalogs. They claim to be able to make any type of cable you need.

Go to the junkyard ahd get a couple of cables and replace them.

Here's another tip that I use- If your replacement cables don't have the plastic covering that covers the old spring looking outside you need to lube them good with wd-40 or some other kind of soaking oil and slip a piece of heat shrink over the entire length of the sheath and heat it up. Chances are you'll never have to mess with it again.
