I do want to add that the rear defroster does work. But only like 5 of the strips actually work, does anybody know a way to get them all working? Or is it some ridiculous process? I don't wanna have to replace the windshield or anything major.

I'd check for voltage at the fan motor w/the fan switch set to all the speeds. If you have voltage and no motor, the motor is either bad or has problems like worn out brushes. Probably the easiest thing to do if there's voltage but no motor action is just replace the motor. For the rear defroster, there are 'kits' that supposedly repair any breaks in the conductor strips. Should be under the hood on the firewall on the passenger side. might be alittle tight around the inner fender but should not be real bad. JMO

Also i would do a test on it before i pulled it just to be sure if that's where the problem is, JMO and have you pulled and checked the fuses ?
But it does sound like the blower has went bye bye though. Cole

Yes- by all means check the fuse or circuit breaker used to protect the motor before replacing it.
The wiring diagram is of a 1978 Camaro but it is similar to your '80 F-body. |
