I got a 92 nissian pathfinder a few mouths ago the ac/heater and rpm meter and all dash lights started randomaly going out. everything else worked radio headlights speedometer and it still ran i didnt look into it because a hit to the dash would kick it back on.

this morning when i started my car heater/rpm/dash would not kick back on and when i gave the car gas while the headlight were on it died. about and out later got it cranked up agian and i could drive it but if i turned headlights on it start dying

any ideas??? i really dont have the money to take to mechanic so any advise would help

Sounds like you have a good short going, it's hard to say where it is, you will have to take a look at your fuse panel first as you have so many things going on. Then use a meter to check for things that might be grounded. I know nothing about a Nissan but that will be a start. if you know nothing about electrical on a car, this might take awhile.
