Post HEI in '73 Monte Carlo

Will a HEI distributor fit in a '73 Monte Carlo 350 without having to move the engine forward?

yes, but you can't use the factory ign hot wire, it has a resistor in it,you have to run a new 12volt wire to the HEI

In my '72 ElCamino (similar to the '72 Monte Carlo), the HEI would fit in but it was against the firewall so I couldn't adjust it. I don't know if they made any changes between that year and '73.

IT WILL WORK, HAD A 74 454 MONTE W/HEI, AS PREVIOUSLY STATED NEED 12V SOURCE, TO POWER IT. SUGGEST P/WINDOW RELAY TRIGGERED BY THE IGN WIRE.
