hei dist wiring help
Calling all "Vette" owners!
I wonder if any of you folks can help? I'm currently in the process of fitting a 350c.u. SBC from an 81 Corvette C3 L82 (the last of the carburettor model) to my '50' Chevy pick-up. The problem is I never saw the car it was removed from. It has an HEI dizzy with electronic ignition. It is not the computer controlled unit. The cap has 2 connections.... 1 for the tach and 1 for the 12v feed. On the body of the dizzy itself are 3 wires going to a block connector.Do I need a control unit? My Haynes manual is a bit vague as to what they are. Can any of you "guys" shed any light on this! I am going nuts trying to get this running! Any advice would be welcome! Thanks in advance |
That 3 wire connector plugs into the cap right behind the tach and 12 volt power connections.
