I just returned from the local yard looking for a chevy HEI distributor. They didn't have any to be found. They had several on buick and oldsmobile cars. They look the same, but I want to ask somebody before get one if they are compatable. Thanks again, Rodney, Colorado Springs
Im not sure about the Buick but the olds will not work the shaft is much shorter then the Chevy <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[nono]" />
Rod - I've had bad luck at the bone yards looking for just about everything. There are plenty of OEM HEI distributors at the swap meets but most vendors want WAY too much for them - who knows whether they are servicable or not? If the module is toast, there goes that good deal right out the window...
Aftermarket HEI applications are everywhere. A lot of those are a little over $100, guarentee, adjustable vacume advance, spring kit and all. Personally, that's the way I'd go.
I have a HEI distributor that I pulled off my 350 in place of a new one. I was a good one, just went to a new one. Let me know if your interested in it. I will sell it pretty cheap.
