hei ignition ques.
to start off, when i had my 231 in my malibu classic i could hook up a tack to the distributor but it wouldnt read anything. now that i have a 305 in its place still with the HEI ignition the tack still wont work will it? what do i have to do for the tack to work with the HEI?

Maybe the tach is bad, or missing other wires? There is only one wire on the HEI for the tach and it's marked, it's the one next to the "batt" terminal.

yea, i hooked it up to that connector on my 231 and had no luck so i took it back. it was just a little cheap one anyways...ill try with a new one in a few weeks to see if it works
