The secondary circuit is probably taking a crap. Could be the module or pickup. Try unplugging the vac advance and see if it runs better. Sometimes the wires on the pickup will break inside from the constant moving from the advance. If it runs better, you'll need to pull the dist and replace the pickup. If not, you may have a bad module.
