Post HELLO, anyone there???

This is my first time on this site and I really need an answer to my question....if you have any ideas what the spring on a 1947 Ford Convertible are for I appreciate a response. They are attached to the body boxes and the top mechanism on both side of car.

Iggy cool your tool, wait a few days, you'll get an answer, its not instant gratification here, you have to sit back and relax. Someone will help you out. I'd be happy to if I knew the answer, but I don't. I honestly have no idea what your trying to ask, but if I'm interpreting your questiopn right I think it would be a spring to keep the top close/open, but I could be waaaay out in left feild avoiding fire ants.

Are those the two springs, one on each side that are streched the most when the top is up? If so they help the motor lift the top away from the windshield to lower it,
