I bought a 1954 3100, I want to update the frame and put a small V8 with matching trans. What type of vehicle should I start with to pull parts from? Thanks

If you lack considerable experience in frame swaps, I would recommend that you lean on someone who has experience. A frame swap is not for the newbie.

i'd update the frame with a mustII x-member and put any carbed sbc w/ 350 trans in it for a low buck build.
in my opinion the best frame for your truck is the one it came with from the factory.
