Hi All,

I've dropped by this forum from time to time for the past little while. I thought it was time to register and make myself available to questions you may have about our series or the cars we build. Feel free to post responses as you wish. Or, to get a faster response log onto our SPEED thread here: http://insider.speedtv.com/viewforum.php?f=11 I usually check this site a couple of times a week.

Just a couple of rules about posting to me:

I won't get into a bashing session about other programs or other TV personalities. Although I have opinions about other automotive programs, I won't bash any in a public forum. I hope you will respect this, even though I may hint at my opinions from time to time.

Second, I will not respond to any "you suck" or "your show sucks" posts. If that's your opinion, fine. However, if you post "your show sucks BECAUSE..." you may get a response. Just remember there is criticism and constructive criticism. Constructive is polite and welcomed.

Welcome to the site ccr-host. Glad to have you on the board. I remember Classic Car Restorations as well as the Degrassi series. CCR is a very good show. One of the best car building shows in my opinion. What makes it good is that it shows real guys in their own shops not a studio. It has it's flaws but that will be another post.

Hope you take a look around at all the other stuff available on this site.

Please do a little better job reviewing scripts/edits...

I just got done watching an episode of CCR and had to sit through about 30 seconds of some kid talking up this inane banter...I'm para-phrasing a little...

"We got the crate motor delivered and after breaking the top of the crate open and unwrapping the plastic we put some chains on the motor and used a cherry picker to lift it out of the crate"

DUH...This is not the helpful step by step instructions potential viewers on this forum are looking for - I know this is reality TV ...you don't need to dumb your show down that much

Dan bailed out a while back - some posts got a bit too personal. And a couple of moderators seemed to be the "culprits" according to a conversation he and I had.
He may come back someday, but don't count on it.

That's too bad...DW seemed like he was open to hearing our feedback on the show and had presented himself and his views eloquently and without prejudice...not something the others have been able to do...TV Show Host, Forum Moderators or otherwise...

That was his opinion.

What actually happened was that Dan jumped in the middle of a thread (the thread asked what people thought of CCR) and when Dan didn't like what he heard he started taking shots at some of those who don't care for the show's format or music. He lowered himself to making personal attacks on other posters and that won't be tolerated no matter who the person is, TV host or not.

Dan is more than welcome to come back any time he likes. However the next time he joins in on an existing discussion about his show and he doesn't like some of the comments, he needs to accept that some people just don't care for his production style and move on. Picking arguments and resorting to personal attacks is pretty childish and given his "position" he needs to be able to accept the fact that some of us don't like his show without taking it personally.
