Hello From England...

Hi I'm Tim, i'm a Mooneyes Authorised dealer and run a Shop in England that specialises in old Volkswagens but i have always had a strong passion for pre 70 American cars too. in the last couple of years i have bought three... a 54 Chevy Bel Air(just arrived yesterday) a 63 Buick Riviera(i've had it a couple of years) and a 57 pontiac Starchief(currently still in California). all are in there original paint or lack of it

The Buick is pretty much ready for the UK MOT so will be on the road shortly and i will be rolling it just how it is for the time being.

The pontiac is on hold as it's still in Cali

I picked up the chevy yesterday from the docks and am really happy with it, for now i plan to take a fair chunk out of the ride height, possibly change the wheels and use it like that for a while(gas prices alowing)

here's some info and pics of it as i've just posted on some UK forums...

One owner from new, used until 1971 then parked up since. no rot only surface rust, every thing works, straight six 3.7L runs lovely and it drives and stops no problem. only ever had 2 panels painted and most the chrome is perfect. interior is tatty but the old faithful Mexican blankets tidy it up for now

Hi Tim, welcome to HotRodders.
Looks like you´ll be busy awhile with those cars.

I´m an ex Luton man myself, been away an aweful long time.

Ooops i seem to have bought another car

As you can see all my cars are original faded or burnt through paint, i have been hankering for a new project i can get stuck into and really go to town on without worrying about chopping a nice original car or destroying what i see as lovely original patina... I trained proffesion is vehicle bodywork and painting so i feel it's time to dust off the old spray gun and have a play

i was looking for a 39 Cevy business coupe but they seem to be really thin on the ground... then i came across this 40 which shape wise the more i look at the more i love!

I plan a nut and bolt resto with a V8, auto trans, reworked front and rear suspension and maybe air as i want it to sit really low but still be useable. bodywork won't be to far from standard but with a few subtle modifications and custom paint.

the car is still in the US and is awaiting shipment to the UK, i can't wait to see it in the flesh!
