Hello from Indiana

My name's Andy, I'm 14 (well technically 15, close enough ) and my vehicle is a 1971 Chevy K/20.

Here's how the story goes:

We have some friends that live on a cattle ranch in South Dakota. We normally go out every year during branding season for a vacation. Well, in 2006, we saw this truck sitting out there and we asked how much they wanted for it. $1000. Now, I was only 8 at the time, so that was a lot of money for a truck We told them to keep it around and we'd pick it up next year,

So, 2007 came around and we rounded up a car trailer to haul it back. The people didn't know I was buying the truck. They ask, "So how much you got saved up?"
"$450."
"Well, you can have it for that."

I was a happy camper When we got it, it was pretty much stock, a cam lobe had worn off so they parked it. Funny story behind the cam: When we bought it, they thought they were sure they had a new cam laying around for it. We just said not to worry about it and we'd get a new one. Once we tore the motor apart, the new cam was already in it! Somebody just didn't finish the job!

So we threw some new bearings in it and called it good. We drove it for a year and parked it in the barn, where it sat for a couple years. Last year, we got it out and put a Rough Country 4" lift on it and some new aluminum rims. This last winter, I spent close to $2000 on parts to get it more road worthy, ball joints, brakes, etc etc.

Well, now this year it seems to have a rod knock. Not bad, but it's there. Plans are to build it up into a 383 stroker this winter. Maybe a roller cam, and some other little things. That just depends on how much money I've got at the time

Now on to my personal life. Well, it's pretty boring actually. LOL

I wash dishes at a restaurant on the weekends, and I play guitar.

Welcome, Andy, you put a smile on my face! What a great kid and your parents I am sure are very proud of you. Though I am many years older than you, we sound like twins! Check out the photos of me at 16 working on my truck. I bought the truck at 15 with paper route money (delivered on my bike in those days) and I played/play guitar too.
