Hello- just joined
Just joined. I've been reading articles on the site for awhile. If I need a break at work, I just check out some rides. I restored a 1952 Willys Jeep in1978, then a 1962 M38A1 military Jeep in 1982. An old lady ran a red light, flipped the jeep, broke then front axle. The roll bar kept my head 2 inches from the pavement. I had so much work in it that I said that I would never restore a vehicle again. I bought a 1985 camaro when it was new. It became a beater so I repainted it in 1996. It looked good. I replaced the 305 with a crate 350 with 178k miles, then the 700 R4 with an Art Carr version. I added SLP headers, dual cats and SLP cat back. Soon it needed new paint after my wife backed into the passenger door. I customized the headlights, placed a glass hood and redid the interior with a leather kit. Then it was repainted. The painter said to enter it in an upcoming show and it won first place in a local show. Check out thirdgen.org MY85Z28. I was back into the restoration stuff. Last year I embarked on a frame off restoration of a plain jane 67 camaro after looking at hi dollar rust buckets for 4 years. Maybe I should have kept looking. CWT
