Jon asked me to stop in here and introduce myself a long time ago.

I'm basically a lurker but I feel bad as I didn't make an itroductory till now.

I'm married and have 3 kids , all grown with grand children in ages from 3 to 19 yrs old. You probably can tell from my family history that I'm old school.

I'm a carpenter by trade and enjoy the outdoors , hot rods , 4x4 trail riding and racing slot cars . Remember those ?

This winter I'm planning to start on a rodding project that's a little different. It will be a chopped / channeled VW body built track roadster style.

I have a 4.0 V6 Ford for power as soon as I fiqure what transmission other than an Explorer I can bolt up to it. Any suggections. I'd prefer to keep it a Ford tranny such as came in the Vickies and full sized Mercs.
