Hello from Studebaker/Chevy Dan
Hi, I wasn't sure if I should use "Studebaker Dan" or "Chevy Dan" as I have a few of both plus a '53 Ford tow truck (the "Happy Hooker").
I'm working on a Studebakers right now, but have a lot more project rods waiting in the barn. This month I'm working on my wife’s 1951 Studebaker Starlight Coupe. It was a "project" car that I picked up. It's a V8 Commander with some of the disc brake conversion started. I think they're "Turner" brakes from what I can tell so far. At this point it's still mostly a stocker, but power steering, Air, a ghost flame paint job, and a lot more "custom" is on the drawing board for the near future. I also have a 1933 Studebaker President Sedan that I plan to turn into a rod sometime next year. That's it for Studebakers. In addition I have a few (6) Tri-Chevy's ( '55 4dr sedan, 56 4dr sedan, '56 2dr Hardtop, '57 4dr sedan, and a '57 Sedan Delivery), plus a 1953 1 Ton Ford Tow Truck that I plan to turn into the "Happy Hooker" to show and use! As you can see, there's lot's of hot rods for me to ask questions on and to help answer questions on.
A little about my background - I've worked on and built hot rods since 1963 and have a background in engineering and design. I'm now retired and am in the process of building a 40x60 shop so I have a good space to work on these cars. I own a lift and presently have a barn that I work out of - it's never seen horses - only horse power :-) I've completed the 1956 Chevy 2 dr. BelAir hardtop and have shown it a few times, and am 99% complete on the 1957 4dr Chevy BelAir. Hope this gives you a little background on me - I'm looking forward to participating on this forum.
