hello from texas

hello my name is marshall
im not a greatly knowlegeable engine builder nor do i claim to be
i am a 5 year body/paint combination man (dieing bread as im told)
my main reason for being apart of this fourm is to learn
ive been searching and searching reading and reading
got questons but will hold off for now

i own a c10 swb 86 and a 91 subarban

the 86 is my baby, former owner mistreated her but i knew what i was getting into
right now i have a freash rebuild 305 .30 over stock everything else with elec fans therm controlled
700r4 and 2.7x highway gear in back basicly a real bore

subarban is a small project i want to get right for my dad

my plans for the 86 is as follows
4bolt 89 3/4 ton block got handed to me by my brother
sum-1785 cam
flat top pistons
scat steel crank
35700p scat rods
promaxx 2151 vortec heads
226014 instake
SUM-RM08750VS carb
probly no bore but want to "zero deck" (not for sure what that means but i was recommended to)
still compileing a list
sugggestions welcome

excuse spelling feeling real lazy at present moment

Welcome to the forum - lots of good information here and lots of guys who will have suggestions on your engine build. You will probably want a different rear ratio with that 700R4 - probably around a 3.73 so you won't be lugging in 4th gear on the highway.

Thanks and yea was looking into a limited slip 3.08 out a 2002 but im in planning phase right now
