HELP 1995 5.7 chevy suburban engine runs good then starts missing

I set the timing to 0 with the brown and black wire unpluged. After each replacement I disconnect the battery to reset the computer. I have replaced everything: all sensors including temp sensor, map, egr, etc. I have also replaced distributor, injectors, fuel pump, filter, computer, spark plugs, cap and rotor. The engine seems to run good but gradually over a day or so it starts running bad, surging, missing and not wanting to take off from a dead stop. It showed a code 42 once or twice but infrequently, now it shows no code. I am concerned with this problem as I am going to install a new stroker motor next weekend and if my problem is electrical I dont want to have it in the new motor.

Make sure the timing is set per the factory requirements and advancing as the RPM increases.
Have you replaced the spark plug wires?
Also check for vacuum leaks on the hoses, PCV valve, intake manifold gaskets.
With the engine idling spray some carb. cleaner on the manifold gasket. If the engine speed increasing it may a leaking gasket.

EGR maybe sticking on, or the egr electric solinoid may be bad, causing the egr to be on at an idle or low engine speeds

Checked and rechecked All timing, changed plugs, wires/ cap, rotor. distributer, egr, all sensors, checked for vacuum leaks, set timing At 0 as specified, still having problem, tomorrow I'm going to check all wires for correct readings, rule out any shorts.
