HELP?350 chev cutting out? HELP!

350 chev mid seventies, stock running and an edelbrock 1407 750 cfm carb. when WOT, it stumbles severely and also had this problem when stock Q-jet was on motor. acts like it is running out of fuel. I need information on what to try next. fuel pump is working properly 7psi and lines are all good from tank to carb. HELP!

You may have the pressure, but what about the pump volume? Volume and pressure....two different animals.

I believe you have too much fuel...that 750 is way too big for the motor.

The quadrajet probably stumbled because the timing was too far advanced (if the carb was functioning). Back off the timing and switch to a 600 cfm or smaller carb.

help 350 question

thanks for info. the 750 I am sure was to big, I just put on to see if made any major differences. I had a sneeking suspicion that it may be something to do with timing issues. I am going to put the stock quad back on as it operated beautifully except for wot and I will play with the timing aspects to see if it comes out of it. I also was wondering if there was web site to figure out what cfm my quad-jet carb is rated at by whatever numbers on the carb? if someone knows, let me know. thanks, bob
