HELP !!!! 456 spooled

I have a spooled dodge 8.5 with 456 gears, strange axles freash motor not on the street yet, I have talk to some guys that said they were high gears, I thought 456 were lower gears , good for going fast in a short time , but don't run they on the highway ,,

4.56 is a very low gear ratio as compared to stock say 3.55 however it is a higher number. so you can say you have a higher numerical rear gear then stock.

Yea that's definately NOT a high gear. It is a bigger gear though.

These guys have your question already answered, but I have one for you. You say it's spooled and it's not on the street yet. I was wondering if you've ever ran a spooled rear end on the street before. I did on my camaro (I bought a mini spool since it was so cheap), and pulled it out in a week. I couldn't handle the noise the inside tire made when going around a turn, it made me more nervous than anything. No one I knew at the time was running one at the time to ask how bad it ate up the tires. Do you know?
