help!!!!!???

no 1- does anyone know for sure whether or not your supposed to put silicone on a cork gasket for a pan job!?

n0-2 My rear main seal of my 73 roadrunner is leaking...is there anyway to fix it or slow down the leak without pulling the entire engine? My oil pressure is low ( on the gage) and I dont have the knowledge or cash to pull the engine and fix this..im really down about this.
thanks-rrmike

welcome to the board.

i would suggest you post your rear main leak question in the engine section. Plenty of sharp guys there.

Silicone will cause the tranny pan gasket to slip out of place unless you glue the gasket to the pan with silicone and allow it to harden first.

I prefer the paper type gaskets , they have a glue coating that heat will help seal the pan to tranny case area
