i have a edelbrock carter afb competition series with #9755s5097 on the front left i just want to know the most information on it .if my research is right it is a 750 cfm carb and i have a mildly modified 383 stroker and it been giving me some problems it doesnt always run right especially after it been warmed up and left to sit for a while but I thought that 750 might be too much for that engine(my pawpaw put it on there) so if you could gives some opinions on that also thanks

No the carb is not too big.

Click on this and save it:http://www.mymopar.com/downloads/carterafbtuning.pdf This will explain how to tune your Carter and fully understand how it works,in this pdf file it lists the jets and metering rod sizes you can use the Edelbrock Performer parts in your Carter but you will have to cross over the part numbers by size.You will also find a listing in this guide for the Carter Strip kits these do show up on ebay from time to time.

Jeff in the guide you gave me it says mine is manual but its electric is this just the result of a conversion kit?
also besides that strip kit what would yall recommend for a good rebuild kit?

AED makes a decent kit but it's expensive IMO. But if all you need is the basics, a kit from Carbs Unlimited will have what you need for less. For that matter, you can get a kit from Wagner, etc. at the local parts store- if you have a parts man that knows what he's doing.

It's common to find carbs converted to electric choke and vice versa,I refurbish carbs and resell them to fund my project and have used this carb kit on Carter AFB and Edelbrock Carbs:
