help!!! electrical problem
1963 Impala column shift. Here is the problem...I have a little play in my shifter while in park. If I hold the shifter up in park all interior and exterior lights work perfectly as advertised. While still in park if I press down a little bit on the shifter all interior and exterior lights go dim and when I press the brake all lights go completly out. I am about to give up and bring it to someone unless anyone has any suggestions. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appriecieated so please keep them coming Im willing to try anything.

The block that goes through the firewall on these cars a very susceptible to working loose and not making proper contact. I had problems with this in both my 64 and with my present 62.
You have to take the blocks apart and clean all the contacts and spread them a bit so that they stay in contact with each other.
