HELP FAST PLEASE. Worth of a metal body 32 ford 5 window.

Due to financial issues my father fire saled his 32 5 window Ford.
He still has the title and has been paid, deal is done. But I also think the guy stole it from him since he only asked for the amount he needed at the time. Dad said he'd take $X.00.

It is a project car. It is metal. It has all glass a what I beleive to be original seat. It was pieced together from other cars. Frame not original and neither is the engine.

The the body is pitted from previous rust but is painted. It runs and drives. Big tires inthe back and side pipes.

What would you guys value it at unseen?

Well, I wouldn't pay this, but there is a 2 door sedan body on an original frame out there in cyberspace with a $10K price tag on it. There is a photo of a 3 or 5 window coupe in a recent street rodder, body only IIRC, for $17K. Deuce's have gotten stooooopid expensive. And remember, Milner's car was a 5 window.

Your father made a decision with the information he had at the time, get over it. I have never regreted a thing I have ever done for that reason. I can say I wish I didn't have to do it, but with the information I had at the time I made a decision, that is just history plain and simple.

Just remember, the value of something is what the seller is willing to sell for and what a buyer is willing to pay. A deal is made when the two meet. Your dad got what he wanted(needed) out of the car so case is closed. It is always easy to price some others item and to advise what some other should offer but when you are the seller or the buyer, it become a different problem. You could have stepped up and offered your dad what you thought he should get out of the car and then it would still be in the family.

After reading your post something just hit me, you don't know a thing about this car! You aren't very close to your dad, you don't have a clue what this car is. Let your dad do what the heck he wants, it's his car.

There is really nothing less helpful than telling someone they paid too much for a car or received too little. And there is really no way for folks on here to judge a deal like this, particularly since you have not even identified the engine, transmission, rear, or any of the 100 or so items that would determine a ballpark value.

As others have noted, if the buyer is happy and the seller is happy...let it rest. It will cause nothing but grief to do otherwise.

Heck - if I cried over the deuce 3W coupe that I bought for $35 and sold at the ridiculous price of $75 or the '37 that I bought for $8 and sold for $15 or the second one that I bought for $50 and sold for $50 and an OK shotgun I still use - I'd be in a constant state of hysterics. It's over!! He got what he needed out of the deal. Sometimes you just do what has to be done!!

once i paid $50.00 for a van, and sold it for $900.00 after spending $100.00 in parts..his wife heard how much i had into it, and cussed me out..
he had to explain to her that it's not how much i paid,, but it's how much he would pay that counts..
he thought it was worth every penny..he dumped wife,, still has van,,still runs great after 12 years..

one of my "bang the head against the wall" was back in the late 70's - - - I bought a '35 Chevy 4dr master deluxe in Houston for $1250 and drove it home (50 miles away)

didn't do anything to it except wheels and routine maintenance and drove it everywhere and then someone offered me $3500 for it and I jumped on it
