yesterday I remove the engine from my 67 camaro its a sbc400 it is mated with a th400, well remove entire engine with flexplate (no trans, no converter) and drop it in my 64 cutlass. and vice versa ;the cutlass has a 95 350/th350 and do the same stuff , remove the engine and drop it in my camaro so the idea was to have a 350/th400 on it, I was getting help from a friend and we didnt check the flexplate to bellhousing clearance , its rubbing hard , i dint crank it but hand turned it rubs :s

what flexplate should I use then?? without removing the 400 engine again

the problem is only on the 67 camaro with '95 350/th400

400 small blocks use a externally balanced flywheel so it must be used with the 400 engine so it looks like you`ll have to do some light grinding for clearences. If you bolt on a flywheel that is not balanced to a 400 you`ll destroy the main bearings. You could get a balance plate then bolt on a smaller flywheel, but you`d have to use a straight pattern starter. It`s said the balance plates don`t work real well and will cause the engine to be a shaker.

I dint change flexplates... the 400 stay with its same flexplate because of the external balance, and the 350 keeps the same flexplate.. but the 350 flexplate its rubbing on the inside of the transmission , right now I will take a pic of this and post it here

right now I was under the car... and the flexplate is too big for the TH400...
my bad I need a 153 tooth one..
