im puyying my engine back in my pontiac its a 1980 car with a 76 400 engine and im stuck rewiring cause i didnt label nowt..i cant get the starter turning so.. ive connected the baterry wire and earth what other wire do i need cheers.......and on the distributor all the conecting is self explanitory because the clips only go in one place apart from one blue wire were does this go please.....and the last one a green wire coming from the wiper motor controls isnt conected and im not sure if it ever was cheers adam im trying to get some pics to help out cheers again adam.

you keep saying cheers I think the problem is that you are drinking to much, you said cheers 3 times and it couldn't of taken more than 5 minutes to write that post so at that rate you are prolly was to drunk to work on your car lol.

I am really pushing my memory on this one, but I think there should be a (purple) wire that goes on the small "s" terminal on the starter. You can verify the correct wire by using a test light to make sure it is energized only when the ignition switch is in "start" (or crank) position. Also make sure the large diameter red wire(s) are connected to the B+ post on the starter, they supply battery power to the cars electrical system.
Not sure about the other wires.
