found it in the pile, # on top row 17033224 # on bottom row 2103fka thanks.

Doesn't make sense. Double check that number.

170 means that its 76 or later
33 doesn't mean anything from what I know. Are you sure its not 83?
2 is 49-state emissions
2 is chevy division
4 is automatic transmission.

Those are also not set in stone. The Rochester plant followed those numbering rules pretty closely, but nothing absolute. They broke their own rules.

17033224 is the # also it has star screws on it.

Maybe someone else has a better reference on hand, but the sources I have don't say anything about a 33 year code. I believe that it says 33... Rochester did some weird things with those numbers.
