Help ID wire into side of T400

I have a 364 Buick Nailhead with a Turbo 400. A switch inside is wired to a single pole on the drivers side of the transmission. Previous owner said it has a Hughes 10" 3600 stall converter so I assume this rules out any switchpitch. Any ideas what this wire is for?

Could be the kick down switch used to drop down into passing gear on a 400 Wire should run up to a switch at the carburetor linkage.

its the kickdown solenoid, [ passing gear ] needs to have a throttle switch to supply 12volts to it so the trans downshifts. If you dont have a switch, "Lokar" makes a nice one. hope this helps

Thanks guys. I don't really need a "passing gear" so I assume no harm to leaving it disconnected.

the switch pitch t-400 would have a solenoid on the pump body back side and the kick down solenoid is next to the valve body on the case.

the electrical connector on the case would have two (2) flat prongs to connect to for switch pitch operation
