Post help on ls1 removal

I have a 2002 corvette im trying to remove the engine but it just wont come out. I removed all the bolts from the block and the ones from the fly wheel. when i jack it up Im able to see the gap from the block to the bell housing so i know theres no more bolts their Im sure all of the bolts from the fly wheel are of. Is their any thing Im missing.

If you are absolutely sure all the bolts are out of the bell housing, motor mounts, and torque converter ( assumeing you have an automatic transmission) there is usually an alignment pin on each side of the motor(from bell housing to engine block) and sometimes they get stuck. Support the motor with your engine puller and see if you can get a putty knife in between the engine and bell housing enough to pry them apart a little bit.

Its not automatic, its a 6 speed trany. Im sure theirs no more bolts on the bell housing, because theirs about a 1/2inch gap betwen the housing and the block.

I think that the trans has to be removed first to R+R motor with the 6 speed trany?

It is a 2002. what? you rebuilding for a blower. a big blower I hope. that is a fast car from the getgo. what you going to do to it? i think your engine is hanging on the input shaft. it is about 3 inches long. you have a 1/2 gap keep pulling it will come out. but roys63 might be right with the new cars.
